Brittany

The west peninsula of France, you might think it is only raining there. But it's not !

Le Havre

Where we started our trip to the west of France

Back in 2018 I went to visit the region of Bretagne with Tiffany. Before actually starting our road trip in this area, we firstly decided to stop in Le Havre. This city is one of the most important harbour of France.

The idea in our heads was to visit the docks of Le Havre. However we soon realised that the place was not open to visitors… Actually I was interested in shooting very big cargos and containers. As it was not possible for us to enter the industrial zone, we just visited the city and the streets of Le Havre.

So we stayed there for one night in “Les Chambres du Chat Perché“. If you are looking for a nice place, that is what you are looking for. The rooms are lovely and if you are staying during summer, I highly recommend to enjoy the breakfast on their terrasse !

Deauville & Honfleur

Deauville, you probably already heard about this town. Normal , it is known for its casion, its film festival and also for its famous beach. This city has seen so many movie stars that it is written on the beach cabins.

We had the chance to come twice in the abbey. Once during the day, that was a very good moment to see how big and how complicated the structure of the abbey was.

And a second time at night. There was a special event, where all the buildings were illuminated. Before entering again inside the walls, we stopped first at the restaurant of “Relais Saint-Michel Hotel”. From there you can book a table and eat while looking direclty at the sunset on the bay. This was a particularly great moment.

Being able to walk inside the Mount Saint Michel again was an exceptional moment. We will never forget it.

It is hard to describe the feeling that you have when you first enter the abbey, at night with a ligh system like this. It gives a very mystical atmosphere. You don’t want to leave the place at all ! And I was constantly taking photos. The spot was just too good !

The end of our holidays

After having visited the Mount Saint Michel, we stayed a few more days. From there we moved a bit further to the west to see the Abbey of Paimpol. While on the road we also stopped at a music festival that we discovered totally by chance. The “seaside festival”. Such a great event ! I highly recommend you to give it a try.
