Hi everyone, let’s continue with the serie “Post edition photo contest”.
Today I will show you another photo of London, the Shard building. I have already posted a slightly identical photo in the London article. Without people walking in front of me. At this time I was thinking that having people out of focus was bad, really bad. Now I think the opposite. It brings motion in the photo. Actually it makes more sense.
However I was still not 100% satisfied with it. Let’s try to improve it.
The original photo
So what’s wrong with this picture ?
The exposition is correct, but it misses a bit of brightness. Also the colors are not enough powerful. The buildings give a strong geometry here, but if you take a closer look, you might notice that the tower is not perfectly aligned in the center. Which is for me really important.
With post editing
So here are three versions of the original picture.
The first one is just a small improvement. I enhanced the color and the luminosity. I tried something with black and white. Not sure though, but the final is ok.
My prefered version is the third one, in blue. Even if I changed a lot of colors I think that is the most easy to read picture. The global feeling in blue does not disturb the eye, nor the understanding of the image.
What would you do ?
Are you interested in giving your feedback ? or proposing another kind of post edition ? Feel free to ask me or leave me a comment !
